CONFERENCE 2022:
The Endovascular Surgery landscape in Africa is quite challenging. Significant human capital constraints in the training of endovascular interventionalists and lack of patient and healthcare providers access to endovascular solutions pose major problems. For example, inflated costs of interventional equipment and consumables are daunting.
This 5th Annual Conference address the dissemination of endovascular treatment options with a focus on the fundamentals of endovascular surgery, necessary judgment, and patient selection for successful outcomes. Discussions include the inherent challenges of making endovascular surgery feasible in Africa. Challenging cases that were successfully performed in the operating theatre, Cath lab, and office-based lab setting be highlighted.
The faculty of physicians and medical students provided interesting, simple, and complex endovascular topics.
