Complete Vascular Services
At Messner Vascular, we understand that early and accurate diagnosis is crucial for the effective treatment of vascular conditions. That’s why we offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic testing services to evaluate the health of your veins, arteries, and other blood vessels.
Our team of experienced vascular specialists uses state-of-the-art technology and techniques to perform a variety of diagnostic tests, including:
Ankle Brachial Index (ABI)
The Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) is a crucial diagnostic tool used to evaluate peripheral artery disease (PAD) and other conditions affecting the veins and arteries. The ABI test involves comparing the blood pressure in your arm to that in your ankle.
If your ABI result indicates a 10% or greater difference in blood pressure between your ankle and arm, it may be an early indication of PAD. An ABI result showing a 50% or greater difference is considered a medical emergency that requires prompt attention from a vascular specialist.
Doppler Testing
Doppler Testing is a vital diagnostic tool that we use at Messner Vascular to identify and diagnose vascular conditions. This non-invasive test utilizes ultrasound technology to evaluate blood flow in the arteries and veins of a specific part of the body. At Messner Vascular, we offer a range of doppler tests, including:
- Lower extremity arterial doppler
- Upper extremity arterial doppler
- Upper extremity venous doppler
- Lower extremity venous doppler
- Carotid doppler
Ultrasound: We use non-invasive ultrasound imaging to assess blood flow and identify any blockages or abnormalities in the veins and arteries.
Computed Tomography (CT) scan: We use CT scans to create detailed images of the blood vessels and identify blockages, aneurysms, and other abnormalities.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI): MRI uses powerful magnets and radio waves to create detailed images of the blood vessels and identify any issues.
Angiography: This is an invasive test that uses X-rays and contrast dye to visualize the blood vessels and identify any blockages or abnormalities.
At Messner Vascular, we understand that each patient is unique, and we take a personalized approach to diagnostic testing. Our team works closely with each patient to develop a customized testing plan that meets their individual needs and provides the most accurate diagnosis possible.

ABOUT SUITE PROCEDURES AT MESSNER VASCULAR
Messner Vascular is committed to providing minimally invasive endovascular procedures for arterial and venous conditions, such as Peripheral Artery Disease and Varicose Veins, to enhance patient comfort and convenience. Our Angio Suite offers a range of in-office procedures, including:
- Angioplasty and Stenting: A common endovascular treatment for PAD, as well as repair of failed arteriovenous fistulas or grafts, where a physician inserts a catheter with a small balloon to widen the artery at the site of blockage. A stent is then placed to maintain improved blood flow in the long-term.
- Laser Atherectomy: Another procedure using a catheter, where high-energy ultraviolet light is used to break up arterial plaque. No stents are needed as the plaque is removed.
- Radiofrequency Ablation of Saphenous Veins: A catheter is used to introduce radiofrequency waves that heat, collapse and seal the vein, stopping blood flow. This technique offers faster recovery and fewer complications.
- Phlebectomy: A simple procedure for varicose vein removal, where several small incisions are created to remove the vein. This may be used with other treatments, such as ligation and stripping or radiofrequency treatment.
- Sclerotherapy: This procedure involves injecting a solution directly into varicose or spider veins, causing the blood vessel lining to collapse and stick together. Over time, the vessel fades from view.
- High Ligation and Stripping of Varicose Veins: A minor procedure to remove damaged veins and prevent complications from vein damage. A flexible device is used to remove the vein through an incision beneath it.
Our team of physicians may recommend one or a combination of these procedures to best treat your condition.
